Rewind: OCTOBER. :]
Alright, alright, here is the month that eeeeveryone's been waiting for! On October 5th my Daddy turned 62! Oh, yeah, and Blake proposed and I said YES! It was pretty awesome. Well, the truth is, we had picked out a ring already, about a month earlier, in fact. (see previous post) :] So no, it wasn't a surprise, I actually knew about it...but he was very sneaky. We had the ring custom designed, so the date it was going to be ready kept getting pushed back. Yesterday, Blake called me and told me that, unfortunately, once again it had been delayed. We were both a little upset, but he told me that since he had everything all ready, he wanted to make dinner for me anyway. At this point, I was a little skeptical.....on the one hand, I really wanted to believe that he was trying to pull a fast one on me, but on the other hand it really was very possible the ring wasn't ready yet; it had already been delayed 3 times. I didn't know what to believe!
He packed up a picnic with chicken soup, a baguette, some cookies we had made together and of course, a massive bottle of Dr. Pepper. He even brought real glasses to put it in! :] So we drive up the canyon to Mt. Timpanogos Park and set up the picnic. IT WAS FREEEEZING, by the way......but back to the story.. By the time we got out of the car, I was fairly certain that despite whatever he had said, he had the ring with him. So you can imagine how fast my heartrate went up when he told me to close my eyes.....and brought out candles! He was very sweet and thoughtful, but I was just thinking, "Darn. I was hoping for a little box...but candles are nice.." Then he asked me Well are you just going to stare at it, or are you going to sit down and eat it?" So, I of course go to sit down, and he goes to sit down next to me, but instead of sitting on the bench is kneeling on the ground, holding a little box..boy did THAT make me sit down fast! And then I jumped right back up again! I actually had to think about it later because neither of us really remembers what he said. It was mostly just yelling and laughing and smiling and all that good stuff with somewhere mixed in "Will you marry me?" and a "Yes!"
