Rewind: June/July/August 2009
So, Spring Term ends, I go home for a few days and then we go to ENGLAND. EPIC, right?!
I don't even know where to start with this awesomeness. Just looking back over my planner, here is a schedule of SOME of the things we did.
I don't have dates for the beginning of the trip, but we went to awesome places like Hever Castle, Canterbury Cathedral, as well as spending time with my Nan and Toni Jeff and Ashley. it was pretty awesome.
AUGUST
1 Aug: Excursion to Lakeside mall....the HUGEST mall I've ever been to. A HUGE thank you to Mum, Toni and Jeff who all gave Cassie and I spending money as birthday presents. :D
7 Aug: Jeff and Toni took Cassie and I to a footie match, Middlesborough V Sheffield Utd. WAY fun.
8 Aug: York, one of the oldest settlements, full of awesome history and more delicious food!
11 Aug: First day in London!!! Buckingham Palace and Billy Elliot!!!!!
12 Aug: Second day in London, Cassie's Birthday! Toni came up, we went to the Tower of London where we saw the Henry VIII exhibit, Cassie got a free ice cream from a palace guard and we went to Planet Hollywood for dinner!
13 Aug : We took a Beatles Tour around various sites of London, recording studios, a club they owned, the location of their rooftop concert, and of course Abbey Road.
14 Aug: We went to Leeds Castle which was GORGEOUS. It has a library that looks like RIGHT out of Beauty and the Beast as well as gorgeous furnishings and art. One of my favourite castles. There's also an attraction called "Go Ape." By FAR one of the coolest things I have ever done. You're hooked in a harness and go up in the trees way above the ground and do obstacle courses up there, "crossings" between these tiny platforms up in the trees. There are 3 zip lines, one of which was MASSIVE. Something I pulled off their website to give you an idea of how this thing works.
WAY awesome. :]
I don't remember which day it was but we went to see the battlefield of the Battle of Hastings. Which was TOTALLY epic, and besides that we saw a cool exhibit called "yesterday's world" as well as going to an amazing little shop where I had a delicious cream tea for lunch. YUM.
19 Aug: alas, it was time to leave and go home...:(
But we didn't have long to catch our breath, Saturday the 22 Aug, I had four friends: Tim, Liza, Justin and Blake come to visit for a few days. That, I think I shall save for another entry...
Phew. Talk about a crazy summer. Oh, and I dyed my hair blue. :]
