Rewind: September

Oy vey. I seem to be getting further and further behind. Classes began on August 31, so September was mainly getting acclimated to new classes. On Labor Day, we had no class! Which was awesome because it was, incidentally, my 19th birthday! Blake wanted to make me a "Southern" breakfast complete with homemade biscuits and sausage gravy. (YUM) Anyway, the day started out pretty terribly actually. I brought some juice to have with breakfast which SOAKED my camera and killed it. I was being quite miserable and upset about it because before that I had been quite annoyed with some people that I had run into (literally) on my walk over. Breakfast was delicious! But I was still annoyed about the not great start that I had to my day. So Blake gets the idea "Why don't we go shopping? Would that make you feel better?" Semi-rolling my eyes I agreed that we could do that, it was nice of him to offer to go with me....only THIS is where he took me.

I KNOW RIGHT? Actually, at this point we had already talked about it, (we stayed up ALLL night the day before school started talking about it) so it wasn't too much of a shock. But still. It was a very strange and surreal moment. Anyway, it was actually way fun! The people at Wilson's (we actually were helped by Matt Wilson, the owner's son.) were awesome! We looked briefly a few other places but the atmosphere and quality was WAY better here than anywhere else. So we went trying to get an idea of what I liked so he could pick one out, but we ended up finding one that we fell in LOVE with, but it was way too big. So we found one the right size and basically said "We want this one in exactly these dimensions." After that, Matt showed us some of the diamonds they had there (loose, so we could look at them from all sides, which was nice.) He pulled out a few that were nice, and on a whim I asked to see one of one higher grade...the first thing we all said was "Wow..that's sparkly." From that second on, it was NO DOUBT that was the one. :] Well, enough about those adventures. The week after we tried to hike Mt. Timp at night. It's a 14.2 mile hike round trip, and we wanted to see the sunrise. We made it 5 miles up and were literally falling asleep walking, which, when you have sharp rocks on one side, and a steep drop on the other, is NOT a good idea. So we went back down. The END of September we went down to California for baby Leia's blessing (and so Blake could talk to my Daddy, but they didn't know that yet). It was a BLAST. Oh, and then on the way home we almost died because there was a random cow on the interstate and we almost hit it. I love little adventures like that.

I wonder if the cow liked the "little adventure".
