And so it begins..BYUFall '09!
ohhhhhh jeez. has it really been 3 months? why yes. yes it has.
I don't even know where to begin honestly. I mean, when you have THREE MONTHS to catch up for, do you start where you left off and go forwards or do you start with where you are and go backwards? Who knows? I don't. But I'm going to start typing anyway.....
Today: My second year at BYU officially began this morning. Weird, right? I'm now a Junior and still in the Environmental Science major program, planning to minor in English Teaching and Chemistry. I'm just all over the place. ;) So, here's how my first day went....
9:00 Honrs 303: Dante's Divine Comedy
This was an interesting class. I was way intimidated by it, because it's cross listed as Italian 460, so the majority of the class are Italian majors/minors. There are two (count 'em, two!) people in the honors track. Including me. But, I'm looking forward to the semester-long journey into hell....how appropriate. But eventually, we will reach Paradiso, in the last few weeks of the semester. : D
10:00 Bio 220A:Biological Diversity(Animals)
This class is going to be interesting. The subject matter is, anyway. The professor is actually really funny, but one problem: he....speaks.....verrrrrrrrrrrrryyyy...slooooooooowly. Which sometimes adds to the jokes, but he also uses a projector. Slow, low pitched voice, and turning the lights off is a perfect combination to put you to sleep. But still, should be fun.

12:00 PWS 345: Air Pollution and Air Quality
My professor thinks global warming will end the world. No lie.

1:00 French 201: Intermediate-Level French.
I'm a liiiittle nervous for this one, because it's been about a year since I've had any French, but most of it is coming back. : ]

2:00 Bio 100: TA!
I was actually fortunate enough to land a job as a Teaching Assistant for a freshman biology class. They meet MWF at 2, and then Thursdays my section of 12 students meets for a lab where the other TA and I will give quizzes, answer questions, etc. etc.

That is my MWF schedule. It stays pretty much the same. I'm getting office hours scheduled for sometime during the week and I don't know when those will be yet, it'll be worked out by next week. : ] Keep your eyes open for the Tuesday/Thursday schedule!!! Coming at you....now! : D
Tuesday
1:00pm French 201
Yep. 1:00pm. First class of the day.
3:00pm Rel A 304: Writings of Isaiah
You got it. An entire class for Isaiah. An entire four months JUST studying Isaiah. A blast, right?
4:00pm Dance 135: Tap
Well, I've got to have SOME fun, right? : ]
This schedule is about the same for Thursday, the only differences being I have a lab for the Bio 220A from 8am-10:50am. That's right. 3 hours. I'm expecting slicin' some things open!!! : D And then at 2, I teach the Bio Lab section with my TA partner Katie.
phew.
So, I don't really expect anything much to be happening around here. I'll just go ahead and start posting recaps all the way from June, I guess! Oh dear...fasten your seatbelts, children. Adults, you don't have to fasten your seatbelts, if I get pulled over for it, anyone over 16 pays the ticket. : D
